"Every man's life ends the same way. It is only the details of how he lived and how he died that distinguish one man from another."

Located on the southern tip of fabled Lamu Island (at the end of the 14km crescent beach), Kipungani offers the perfect desert island escape, where barefoot luxury meets ancient Swahili life. The main building houses the dining room and bar area. The gardens are attractive and there is salt-water swimming pool. There are 14 spacious and secluded bandas, which are shaded by the palm trees that line the 600 metre beachfront. The interiors are a picture of rustic simplicity, with king-size beds, and locally manufactured furniture. Each banda has an ocean facing veranda, with a sofa and chairs piled high with colourful cushions. The resort offers sunset Dhow cruises, creek and reef fishing, snorkelling and windsurfing at an additional cost.
